Add new script to prepare ports for Wi-Fi deployments where cables are being cut
In houses H, I, and L to install Wi-Fi APs, cables going to the users' rooms are cut, keystone modules are installed on both ends of the cut and are patched to E0 and E1 of the AP that is installed in the dorm. This change needs to be reflected in NetBox.
The current approach is adding a Rear/Front port pair for each keystone module (one “uplink” which connects the switch and E0 and one “downlink” which connects E1 and the user socket). Example:
- The AP aruba-ap-l01 is installed in House L 6d 09-00-2.
- The cable to 09-00-22 socket 5 is being cut and keystone modules installed.
- These ports shall be created (Rear Port -> Front Port):
- Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-2 Flur Uplink Rear -> Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-2 Flur Uplink
- Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-2 Flur Downlink Rear -> Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-2 Flur Downlink
- The cable
Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-22 Dose 5 -> Patchpanel Port XYZ
shall be deleted. - These cables shall be created:
- Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-2 Flur Uplink Rear -> Patchpanel Port XYZ
- Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-2 Flur Uplink -> aruba-ap-l01/E0
- Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-2 Flur Downlink Rear -> Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-22 Dose 5 Rear
- Hausaufgang L 6d 09-00-2 Flur Downlink -> aruba-ap-l01/E1
This reflects the physical situation after the AP installation most accurately.
