This needs a patch to the Makefile.
Since this package is still maintained upstream, it might be worth to figure out a generic change to the Makefile that can be upstreamed to fix this issue.

Is there a way to mark a package as "known broken with clang"?
Otherwise, a proper patch is needed. Is this software still used? Would aptly be a good replacement?
